Design and Developed a Multisystemic Complex Care Module,

Highlights:

  • Designed, developed and coordinated a new multisystemic complex care module for 100 second-year medical students, applying adaptive and personalized learning principles.

  • Collaborated closely with faculty to design and implement the curriculum with the involvement of 42 guest instructors from various multi-disciplinary fields.

  • Enhanced student learning experiences and engagement, resulting in a 15% improvement in student performance compared to the previous iteration.

Re-Design and Development of ECUR 164 (Science Course)

Highlights:

  • As an instructor and instructional designer of ECUR 164, I have done a comprehensive redesign, focusing on optimizing mastery learning to enhance clarity and accessibility for students. A key feature of the re-design is the integration of interactive course activities using H5P in Canvas. These engaging elements serve to captivate students' attention, fostering a dynamic learning environment.

  • The adaptive assessment strategy has been thoroughly restructured to align with the course's learning objectives. Rigorous evaluation mechanisms have been implemented by aligning learning outcomes with assessment grades.

Incorporate Research Methods into Undergraduate Medicine Courses

Self-Directed X-Ray Learning Module Development with H5P

Highlights:

In this project, we created an interactive X-ray Module for the second-year foundation course using H5P. In this interactive content, we utilized features like hotspots, accordions, and quizzes to enhance learner understanding. The positive feedback from learners highlights their preference for more interactive elements in upcoming courses.

Faculty Training Module for Curriculum Change Process
Apr. 2023- Aug. 2023

Highlights:

​

This interactive training module aims to familiarize medical faculty with the step-by-step curriculum change process and encourage their active involvement. Developed using Articulate Storyline and Rise 360, the module is integrated into Canvas to enhance faculty engagement in the curriculum change system. This initiative improved by 35% more participation of faculty than in recent years.

Program Evaluation Project for Integrating Remote Learning Strategies

Highlights:

​

This program evaluation project aimed to assess and improve pre-clerkship courses by developing and implementing remote learning strategies in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus was on adapting remote teaching methods to ensure effective learning outcomes during the transition to online education while maintaining the quality of medical education in a remote setting.

Learning Analytics Dashboards for Entrustable Professional Activity (EPA) Data

Highlights:

The objective of this project was to develop two analytics dashboard modules using Tableau for clerkship faculty and resident doctors, aimed at helping faculty to evaluate students' Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs). By leveraging these dashboards, competency committee members can easily evaluate performance and navigate data, significantly saving time and effort in the assessment process.

Rather than a mere compilation of 'tips and tricks,' it serves as a tool to encourage faculty to consider how they can effectively utilize technology and learning strategies to enhance classroom learning.
